Photo to USDZ
Turn a photo of a painting, print or product into a USDZ you can hold up to a wall at its true size.
Enter one side in cm; the other follows the photo's shape. Empty means 60 cm on the long side.
Walk slowly in a full circle around a matte object in even light. Video jobs go into a queue; if a scan fails, your credit comes back automatically.
How to do it
- Take or pick a straight-on photo.
- Upload it and enter the real size in cm.
- Get the USDZ, GLB and viewer link.
- Tap View in AR and place it on the wall.
How to shoot a photo that converts well
- Face the subject straight on so edges stay parallel.
- Use even daylight and avoid glare on glossy surfaces.
- Fill the frame, then crop out any wall or table.
- Measure the real width or height so you can enter it.
Flat photo, real size
The USDZ is a flat plane carrying your photo, built at the centimeter size you enter. It is ideal for artwork, posters, textiles and labels. It is not a 3D scan of an object: for that, switch to the video to 3D mode.
Viewing and sharing
Open the USDZ on an iPhone or iPad and AR Quick Look starts. You can also send the viewer link or QR code to anyone, including Android users who get the GLB in Scene Viewer.
FAQ
Does this create a 3D model of my photo subject?
No. It creates a flat model that shows your photo at real size. For true 3D, use video to 3D.
Can I use photos from my camera roll?
Yes, including HEIC photos from iPhone.
Is the first photo free?
Yes. The first photo conversion is free.
Do I need an app?
No. USDZ opens in AR Quick Look built into iOS, and the viewer link works in the mobile browser.
